Goals The general aim of this course is to planing, implementing and evaluating the mathematic teaching processes for individuals with special needs. In this direction, it is intended to provide information on the presentation of the content and features of the education programs for students with special needs, the information about the use of these programs in evaluation, planning and intervention, the introduction of effective methods and techniques that can be used in the teaching process, the presentation of features of the learning domains in mathematics and how to teach these domains.
Course Content The use of mathematics programs in the IEP preparation process, the points to be considered in the planning for mathematics in IEP, the methods-techniques to be used in mathematics teaching for students with special needs, and the process of preparing a teaching plan for each learning area.
Learning Outcomes 1) Knows the general features of mathematic curriculum
2) Determines student performance by developing tools to be used in the assessment of mathematical skills.
3) Prepares an effective individualized education program for mathematics.
4) Knows effective methods and techniques used in teaching mathematics.
5) Knows the cognitive strategy used in solving mathematical problems.
6) Knows the development and importance of each learning domains in mathematics.
7) Prepares a teaching plan for each learningdomain in mathematics.
