Goals In this course basic concepts and theoretical approaches of sociology both which analyzes modern institutions and new social interactions within the process that started with the French and Industrial Revolutions and which itself is the end product of modernity will be introduced to the students.Social facts and relations in modern societies will be examined and transformations of modern society for two hundred years with its new dimensions in 21st century will be discussed.
Course Content In this course the developmental adventure of modern societies will be comparatively analyzed since 19th century. Two century long transformations and new dimensions of these developments will be discussed.
Learning Outcomes 1) Have theoretical, historical and current knowledge about society in general
2) Have methodological knowledge in the field of sociology
3) Define the historical and contemporary problems of modern societies with their social, political and psychological dimensions
