Goals The aim is to acquire sufficient knowledge and skills in fingerprint research is essential for obtaining scientific answers from trace evidence in forensic investigations. This involves transferring scientific and technical information related to fingerprint studies.
Course Content Fingerprint Introduction, Factors Influencing Fingerprint Development, Fingerprint Classification (Lasso), Fingerprint Classification (Wirbel), Fingerprint Enhancement Methods - Porous Surfaces - 1, Fingerprint Enhancement Methods - Porous Surfaces - 2, Fingerprint Enhancement Methods - Non-Porous Surfaces - 1, Fingerprint Enhancement Methods - Non-Porous Surfaces - 2, Optical Scanning and Fingerprint Enhancement Techniques, AFIS and Fingerprint Identification Processes, Comprehensive Evaluation of Fingerprint Research (Integrated Criminal Processes), Fingerprint Chemistry - Touch Chemistry and Innovative Instrumental Methods
Learning Outcomes 1) Acquires sufficient knowledge and skills related to fingerprint research.
2) Learns basic examination techniques related to fingerprint research.
3) Gains knowledge about criminal investigations involving fingerprint evidence.
4) Be able to generate different perspectives in solving forensic cases, establish relevant connections across different disciplines, and generate ideas. Be able to interpret information from past or present criminal events.
