Goals This course aims at providing students with the basic sociological concepts and knowledge and giving them the ability to assess and comment on a sociological point of view on the social issues and facts.
Course Content Cities, social life, daily life, globalisation, violence and crime, social problems in Turkey
Learning Outcomes 1) Recognizes and analyzes the major sociological issues of contemporary societies
2) Acquires awareness of the problems related to urban life
3) Acquires the ability of comparing societies in temporal and spatial terms
4) Acquires awareness of social inequalities and discrimination
