Goals This course aims at providing students with the basic sociological concepts and knowledge and giving them the ability to assess and comment on a sociological point of view on the social issues and facts.
Course Content Sociology and sociological perspective, historical development of sociology, industrial revolution and industrial society, August Comte, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber
Learning Outcomes 1) Has the knowledge of theory and method specific to journalism practice and use them.
2) Establishes the relationship between social, economic, and political developments and the field of journalism, having a deep understanding of the role of journalism in society.
3) Distinguishes the journalism-specific historical conditions in the context of Turkish social history.
