Goals The aim of this course is to develop the skills of students necessary to conduct research, discussion and writing on visual culture. The course has thus been designed to introduce critical approaches that can be used in relation with various images, objects and spheres.
Course Content Visual culture studies is an interdisciplinary field of study that deals with visual anthropology, art history, art theory and cultural studies. In this course we will have a historical overview of visuality through painting, photography, and cinema to explore the role of images in society ocross place and time. The course presents fundamental concepts for analysis of all kinds of images and demonstrating centrality of visual experience in everyday life.
