Goals This course aims to teach the qualitative research techniques for social sciences, specifically for communication studies.
Course Content This course deals with quantitave researches methods in social sciences. During the course different methods will be discussed and analyzed like semiology, discourse analysis, ethnographic researches, interviews etc.
Learning Outcomes 1) The ability of preparing a research proposal.
2) The ability to find and use research sources (people, reference books, data bases, internet etc.)
3) The ability to use the sources effectively
4) The ability to recognize the perspectives of methodology.
5) The ability to recognize and use methods like semiology, discourse analysis, ethnographic study, in-depth interview and focus group.
6) The ability to use quantitative research methods like experiment, survey and content analysis properly.
