Goals Explaining the meaning and importance of the art and art history, related fields of art history and the basic concepts/terminology used in this field.
Course Content The course will focus on the main terms and basic concepts used in scientific field of art history, primarily Turkish, Islamic, Byzantine and European arts.
Learning Outcomes 1) The student will learn the concept of art and art history, and define it.
2) The student will know about the emergence of art history as a scientific field, it's concept and limits.
3) The student will establish the relations between art history and other scientific fields.
4) The student will learn and gain the ability of using the basic concepts and terminolgy belonging to architecture, sculpture, and handicrafts which are subjects of art history field.
