Goals * Understanding Islamic philosophy, architecture, space and history * To have the ability to recognize, analyze and compare important works of Islamic arts. * To understand the effect of social, economic, political, climatic and technological conditions on the typological change in architecture. * To gain a general perspective on history and to have a good command of the terminology of Islamic architecture
Course Content Islamic Art and its early periodst.The areas which show Islamic arts are examined. Students are expected to participate to the discussion and follow the weekly readings and do the homework.
Learning Outcomes 1) The situation of the Umayyad and Abbasi Mimas in the Early Islamic Period.
2) The process of development of the Umayyad and Abbasi Architecture in Early Islamic Period
3) Similarities and differences.
