Goals The aim of the course is to intorduce and evaluate the Turkish and Islamic architectural monuments of Turkish-Islamic architecural monuments, starting from Turkish-Islamic states in Asia before their appearence in Anatolia, until the 16th century.
Course Content Asian dimension of Turkish and Islamic Architecture will be handled as whole with architectural developments starting from 10th century until the end of the 16th century, and samples.
Learning Outcomes 1) Learning the concept of Turkish and Islamic architecture in Asia, it's historical, geographical, and cultural dimensions.
2) Identifying the building types and features of Karakhanid architecture.
3) Gaining knowledge about building types of Ghaznavid architecture.
4) Learning about historcal, geographical, and cultural dimesnions of the Great Seljuk period. Ability to determine the place of the Great Seljuk architecture among Turkish*Islamic architecture.
5) Identifying the Kharezm architecture buildings chronologically-typologically.
6) Identifying the Timurid architecture buildings chronologically-typologically.
7) Identifying the Safavid architecture buildings chronologically-typologically.
8) Learning the Turkish and Islamic architecture which has developed in India.
