Goals The aim of the course is to teach the major features of architecture in Anatolian Principalities (Beylik) Period.
Course Content The history of religious and profane architecture in Anatolia during the Principalities (Beylik) Period, it's geographical, and cultural dimensions, traditions and interactions, it's place and importance in the general development process of Turkish architecture, innovations, plan, space, façade characteristics and typological differences of building types, and introduction of their building and material features.
Learning Outcomes 1) Learning the building types of Anatolian Principalities Period; their plan typologies; space establishment, traditional attributes of building and material features, primary changes by the contribution of local materials.
2) Identifying the monuments in light of typological differentiation of the Anatolian Principalities Period mosques.
3) Identifying the monuments in light of typological differentiation of the Anatolian Principalities Period madrasahs.
4) Identifying the monuments in light of typological differentiation of the Anatolian Principalities Period tombs.
5) Identifying the monuments in light of typological differentiation of the Anatolian Principalities Period caravanserais.
6) Identification of water structures and civil architecture of Anatolian Principalities Period.
