Goals It is aimed to recognize the architectural products that are known as the Early Ottoman Period in the history of Turkish Art and constitute the art phase of about 150 years and to learn the art and cultural environment of the age.
Course Content Building groups and typologies representing the architectural field of the early Ottoman period are examined chronologically.
Learning Outcomes 1) Gains knowledge of the establishment of the Ottoman Principality and the development process of the Empire.
2) Gains knowledge of buildings representing Ottoman architecture and their structural features and material usage.
3) Develops the ability to describe the building types of the early Ottoman period planimetrically.
4) Understands the 15th century art historical dimension of early Ottoman architecture and gains the ability to describe its characteristics.
5) Gains knowledge of ornament in early Ottoman architecture and develops defining skills.
