Goals To learn and run discussions about classical sociological theorists
Course Content This course investigates the emergence of sociological thinking through understanding classical thinkers. It examines conceptual tools, problems and their historical conditions that played crucial role in the formation of the discipline of sociology.
Learning Outcomes 1) Students gain skills in understanding historical social conditions of emergence of sociological theory
2) Compares and analyzes classical theorists' accounts on the nature of society and the way it operates.
3) Distinguish different theories and evaluates their relations within the historical context
