Goals The aim of the course is conveying the general characteristics and development process of the decorating in Turkish architecture to the student, and have them gain the comprehension of the stylistic features, and the ability of distinguishing similar and differential parts with surrounding cultures.
Course Content The course will handle the material, technique, motif-compsition, and style features of the architectural decorating such as tile, stone, stucco, handdrawing of the mentioned period.
Learning Outcomes 1) The student will learn the definition and concept of Turkish architectural decorating.
2) The student will gain knowledge on the history and distributions related to the subject; will follow the chrocological developments and general characteristic of architectural decorating.
3) The student will learn the relations of Turkish architectural decorating with other cultures.
4) The student will know the materials and techniques in Turkish architectural decorating; will learn style criticism.
5) Will have ideas on archietctural decorating samples such as stonework, tilework, stucco, handdrawing, brickwork.
