Goals The purpose of this lesson is, 1. To develop positive attitude devoted to teaching ways of creative drama. 2. To make students comprehending such basic concepts as creativity, drama, creative drama, game and theatre pedagogy, communication-interaction, role-playing, action, dramatic game, children theatre etc. 3. To make students comprehending of what proficiencies and responsibilities should have a pre-school educators should for applying creative drama in the classroom. 4. To make students compreheding the gains about the development terms of pre-school education grade children (0-6) for applying creative drama with them, 5. To make students comprehending the informations about the creative drama applications in Turkey and the development process of creative drama devoted to usage of it in education 6. To make students comprehending of which abilities are necessary for applying creative drama as a medium, 7. To make students gaining the ability of planing and applying a creative drama lesson,8. To make students comprehending the diffirences between creative drama and psycho-drama.
Course Content 1. Meeting and Communication , 2. Communication and Interaction, 3. Theoretical Session (Basic notions of creative drama: creativity, drama, creative drama, game and theatre pedagogy, communication-interaction, role-playing, improvisation, action, dramatic games, children theatre etc.), 4. Trust and Harmony, 5. Theoretical Session (Phases of creative drama, dimensions of creative drama, elements of creative drama), 6. Mid-term exams, 7. Introduction to Role-playing and Improvisation, 8. Role-Playing and Improvisation, 9. Theoretical Session (History of Creative Drama), 10. Literature and Creative Drama, 11. Analysing Creattive Drama Lesson Plan, 12. Preparation of Creative Drama Lesson Plan, 13. Practice of Pupils-I, 14. Practice of Pupils-II, 15. General Assessment, 16. Final Exams.
Learning Outcomes 1) Graduates have skills for teaching drama.
2) Graduates explain the notions that related with drama and use them correctly.
3) Graduates have skills to use drama as a medium for other lessons.
4) Graduates have knowledge about the goals of drama teaching.
5) Graduates have knowledge about drama cirriculum.
6) Graduates have skills to animate various subjects through using the drama techniques like improvisation, role-playing etc.
7) Graduates improve an understanding for how drama teaching should be planned according to development specialities of children.
8) Graduates have knowledge about how to use drama as a medium for education in Turkey.
9) Graduates have knowledge about the historical development of drama.
10) Graduates plan, practice and assess process of a drama lesson.
11) Graduates improve appropriate exercies for a drama process.
12) Graduates explain the role of drama about developing questioning skills of students.
