About Program
Health Management Programme lasts four years and has a total credit of 170. A summer internship is required at the end of the 6th Semester.Health Management Programme is consisted of courses providing knowledge in background studies, knowledge in the field of management (Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Law) and professional knowledge (Health Services Management, Organizational Behavior in Health Services, Financial Management in Health Services, Cost Accounting in Health Services, Decision Making Methods in Health Services, Health Economics, Health Policy, Health Law, Marketing in Health Services, etc.) and skills (field applications) in health services management. The program duration is 4 years. For the term and summer internships, it is cooperated with the Hospital of Ankara University and other public and private healthcare institutions and hospitals.
Goals
1. Having the knowledge and skills to systematically and consciously apply the concepts, principles, theories, models and techniques related to planning, organizing, execution, coordination and control functions in order to achieve the goals of the health system,
2. Attaches importance to the existence and development of managerial and leadership qualities, is innovative, entrepreneurial, able to use the information technologies required for the profession,
3. Able to contribute to scientific knowledge with researches carried out in the field of healthcare management,
4. Able to work in a team in cooperation with stakeholders in the health system
5. By following all the changes in the health sector, producing managerial solutions specific to the country's health system,
6. To train healthcare managers who know human rights, patient rights and ethical rules and act with care.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Graduates have knowledge about theoretical and practical information related to the field of health management and to be able to implement this knowledge; gain knowledge and skills on understanding, analyzing and directing administrative, financial, technical, juridical and medical process of health organizations; understand basic elements and characteristics of health system and to understand to analyze health policy; have knowledge and skills on managing information systems on health management and to be able to effectively us it.
