About Program
Department of Information and Records
Management raise the work force who shall perform "information
management" function which involve compiling, arrangement, access and
publishing of information and / or information sources. The above mentioned
work force is intended to be raised as information and records managers who
shall be capable of managing information centers encompassing libraries,
documentation and information centers, of using information and communication
technologies competently, of teaching information access methods and techniques
to any individual with any educational level and also of evaluating those areas
of information science, related to arrangement and access with an understanding
of business and management.
Goals
Purposes of the program are to raise qualified individuals who have a thorough knowledge about history, social, economic, philosophical and scientific developments in the field of Information and Records Management, embrace scientific thinking methodology, can use information and communication technologies effectively, are capable of thinking creatively and critically, of fulfilling their social responsibilities, contribute to development and creation of information services policies and to realize theoretical and applied researches at national and international levels which shall contribute to improvement of this discipline.
Summary of Program Outcomes
The qualified individuals who shall serve as academic staff in the discipline of information and records management and as information-records-archive specialist, shall have knowledge on the media where the information is recorded, the change caused by technological advances to the information sources and kinds of information sources as well as processes and procedures applied in information centers regarding such information sources.
