About Program
This program is provided by the Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology. In 1982 the Board of Higher Education was recognized these two disciplines as a single discipline. On 08.06.1995 with the approval of the Board of Higher Education, discipline o maxillofacial radiology was recognized as a separate department. Currently, academic team consists of 5 professors, 1 associate professors and 3 teaching assistant.
Laboratories, clinics and technical facilities for students:
There are two working facilities; Oral Diagnosis Clinic and Oral Radiology Clinic. There are 11 dental chairs in Oral Diagnosis Clinic, two panoramic machines, ten periapical x-ray machines, photostimulable phosphor system and CBCT system in Oral Radiology Clinic.
The applicants who have a graduate degree in dentistry and fulfill the requirements of the Instutute of Health Sciences are admitted to the Doctorate programme after an oral examination.
Goals
The aim of the Maxillofacial Radiology programme is to graduate the scholars who are able to use contemporary methods for diagnosis and treatment planning and compotent in education and reserch activities.
Summary of Program Outcomes
1. Evaluates the current and advanced information, develops new concepts with original ideas and researches in oral diagnosis and radiology. 2. Conceives the interdisciplinary interaction of oral diagnosis and radiology with related fields, analysis new and complex ideas to create unique concepts. 3. Demonstrates lidership with effective communication to solve internal and interdisciplinary proble 4. Knows and effectively utilizes the technical equipment and instruments used in oral diagnosis and radiology. 5. Solves ethical problems in oral diagnosis and radiology and supports the development of these ethical values. 6. Knows statistical concepts in health sciences, uses correct statistical tests in his/her researches and evaluates the results. 7. Develops new concept, method or design in oral diagnosis and radiology or applies the current concepts, methods or designs in a new area. 8. Uses a foreign language in written and verbal communication. Designs an original research and publishes the results of the research in national/international refereed journals and/or presents in scientific congress. 9. Knows the current information in oral diagnosis and radiology literature. 10. Contributes to convertion of the communitiy to an information society by introducing scientific, technological and social improvements in the field of oral diagnosis and radiology.
