About Program
Information and Document Management Doctorate Program, educates high-level information experts who have the necessary technical and technological knowledge to qualify all types of written, printed and electronic documents, organize them through a classification system, store them physically and / or electronically, and share them via information access systems and networks.
Graduates of this program, know the evaluation criteria and principles of printed and electronic publications and special material, analyze the information needs of different user groups, perform information management in this context and use related systems and tools.
The program trains qualified manpower to organize, access and manage the information produced at the national level, in line with the developments in librarianship and information sciences, archival science and document management, in order to meet the information needs of the society, and in line with the public interest
Goals
The aim of the program is to monitor, adapt and contribute to the ever-evolving professional technical and technological knowledge in meeting the information needs at the institutional, individual and social level; In an environment increasingly becoming electronic, contributing to the establishment of infrastructures for sharing information and / or information resources and raising awareness in provision of regulations concerning right to use /right to information, in line with ethical and legal principles; To contribute to the development of students' skills such as questioning, problem solving, critical and creative thinking; to guide them in conducting a research, using scientific methods and reporting.

Has the ability to think critically, solve problems, make analysis, performance evaluation and research in the context of the social position and functions of information centers and information retrieval systems; can evaluate the rules and classification systems related to the organization af information.
