About Program
The information and records management master's program is designed for students who can define the basic concepts of their field and make connections between concepts, and produce new ideas or perspectives from these connections; Have knowledge and skills in collection development policies, collection management and measurement and evaluation; Having knowledge and experience about open access and institutional archives and related standards and being able to develop policies on these issues; Applying modern archival principles and methods, evaluating electronic archive studies and organizing archives and archival documents; It trains individuals who have knowledge and skills about electronic document management systems, access tools and strategies.
Goals
The objectives of the program are to address the organisation and access of information/information resourses in any format in the context of socio-cultural and economic changes and developments in information Technologies; Contributing to the design and delivery of innovative and creative services by prioritizing institutional and user needs and in parallel with scientific developments; To be able to produce solutions to problems related to the disciplinary and application aspects of the field.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Knows how information centers are organized and functioning in society, and in this context being able to identify, investigate, analyze, produce solutions and make research on internal/external factors affecting information centers. Knows, using and evaluating of informaiton retrieval systems and ensures that individuals are information literate. Has the ability to develop new approaches from user and system perspectives so that information centers can provide equitable and inclusive information services that are sensitive to ethical rules and copyrights.
