About Program
Correct construction of health and food relations is one of the basic requirements for human health. The program planned to be launched is included in the priority program of the YÖK 100/2000, which is designed by considering the needs and development areas of our country. In addition, foods with health claims, biofunctional foods and clinical nutrition products are widely used in our country. This program was planned as an interdisiplinary postgraduate master's program under the scope of Health Sciences Institute of Ankara University. Within the scope of the program, different branches that affiliated to the Department of Internal Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine (Endocrinology and Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Hematology, Oncology, Geriatrics, Intensive Care, Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy), General Surgery Department, Public Health Department, Child Health division, Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, in the Faculty of Pharmacy (Biochemistry, Pharmacy Management, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Technology Advisory) and the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Diseases (Social Pediatrics BD), Ankara University Medical Faculty Hospitals Clinical Nutrition Commission. Faculty of Engineering Department of Food Engineering also participated. In this context, it is planned to receive theoretical and practical training support from the mentioned science / education branches.
Goals
In the context of product development with health claims, clinical nutrition, biofunctional foods and implementation, the multidisciplinary approach and expertise are crucial to ensure to the right approaches to food-health, action plans and to produce evidence based policies. The purpose of this program is being a guide to the Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Nutrition and Dietetics in the clinical practice, to nurses and veterinarians, food engineers, biochemistry and biology graduates and who are aiming to work in this area, from the development process of the targeted food and clinical products to the clinical application principles.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Develop theoretical knowledge of health policy, economics and management. Use scientific methods and techniques to solve problems that arise in the management of health care. Develop and evaluate health policy by understanding policy development process. Develops new strategic approaches to the solution of complex and unforeseen problems in the health sector. Monitor developments in the field and communicate with colleagues by using foreign language.
