About Program
Since disasters affect our daily life and development in a hazardous and risky geography, it is important to present the basic approaches and policies in order to minimize the disaster losses in our country. As the need to establish an effective disaster management system continues, an event specialization commission in disaster management has been established within the scope of the Tenth Development Plan Preparatory Works. The main policies, targets, strategies and recommendations that can be taken into account in the determination of the objectives of the Tenth Development Plan (2014-2018) and long-term targets are presented. In this report, it is stated that effective coordination between the public institutions, municipalities, private sector organizations, universities and media organizations in order to carry out disaster management effectively in our country is considered to be the most important in terms of the development of our country by eliminating the negative effects of disasters with the least lost and addressing the issue with a multidisciplinary approach.
Disaster Risk Management Master's program under the Turkey's oldest and most established universities of Ankara University, one of the engineering, especially in the Faculty of Science, Language, History and Geography Faculty, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Political Sciences, the Faculty of Applied Sciences to cooperate with the competent units, companies can make joint work with the Technology Development Center is an advantage in terms of contribution to this program.
The academic staff involved in the Disaster Risk Management Master's program consist of faculty members who have conducted studies on disasters in different disciplines and conducted publications. The program will also make a significant contribution to the training of staff in the field of disaster risk management in our country.
Goals
The aim of the Master of Science (MSc) Program in Disaster Risk Management is to provide pre-disaster training, awareness raising and project development; In the case of a disaster, it is to train innovative, researcher and entrepreneurial individuals who are equipped with knowledge and skills related to their profession and to do all kinds of loss reduction activities, especially coordination. The aim of the Master's Program in Disaster Risk Management is: By integrating its graduation area into different disciplines, it will produce strategy and policy determination, loss reduction solutions for disaster risk management, Will be able to analyze the risk and risk needed in the sector related to disasters, produce new strategies in line with these analyzes and make designs that improve existing systems, Will be able to work in academic field, Professional and ethical standards and Improved teamwork, effective communication and innovative thinking capabilities To educate individuals with a Master's degree.
