About Program

Is two-year associate degree program in which ıntroducing diseases, pests and weeds that cause economic losses of crop production, biology of these organisms, relationships with plants and each other, and also teaching legal or quarantine, cultural, biological, mechanical, physical, biotechnical, chemical and integrated pest management methods.

Goals

Training students who can control pests, diseases and weeds that limit crop yield and quality in crop production without harming human health and environment, will be able solve the problems with contemporary methods, and in order to meet the need for intermediate staff who can work as a practitioner, to educate the students who have received theoretical and practical training in crop protection.

Summary of Program Outcomes

Identifing pests, weeds and beneficial organisms commonly seen in agricultural areas at microscopic and macroscopic levels, determining prevalence and damage / benefit levels. Knowing the tecniques and applications of agricultural control methods against diseases, pests and weeds in cultivated plants. Having general knowledge about sowing, planting, irrigation, fertilizing, spraying, harvesting etc. in crops and mechanization of these applications. Evaluating the interaction of pesticides with humans and environment by establishing cause-effect relationships and develop solutions using breeding and control techniques that will cause minimal harm to humans and nature.
