About Program
Orthotics and Prosthesis Biomechanics and Rehabilitation master's program was opened as a Thesis Master's Program in the Department of Orthotics and Prosthesis in Ankara University Health Sciences Institute. As of the 2022-2023 Spring semester, it has been deemed appropriate to start accepting students.
Goals
The aim of the program is to train experts who can follow scientific and technological developments in the field of Orthotics and Prosthesis Biomechanics and Rehabilitation of those who use these assistive devices. The program aims to ensure that graduates gain advanced and deep knowledge, skills and attitudes in education, research and practice.To ensure that graduates are prosthetists orthotists who can integrate their knowledge with clinical and scientific studies, interpret the results, continue life-long learning, contribute to training programs related to orthotics and prosthetic biomechanics and rehabilitation, at national and international level.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Within the scope of program qualifications; students' ability to comprehend assessments of the functional status of individuals who use or will use Orthoses and/or Prostheses,to be able to know the selection, design, production, biomechanics and rehabilitation of the most suitable orthotic or prosthetic fittings for individuals and to be able to solve them in a teamwork understanding, to know the solution to the problems encountered during the use of the orthosis and / or prosthesis,to be able to know the complications that may develop in cases where the orthosis and/or prosthesis is not used, learn to create innovative designs,in practice, they need to be able to develop skills in perspectives, attitudes and behaviors towards physically disabled people and their families.
