About Program
Turkey is the world's richest country in terms of quality and quantity of cultural properties. This wealth includes archaeological, historical, ethnographic works as well as works of art. Postgraduate training in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural properties is a necessity for the conservation and restoration of these cultural properties in order to be able to do with advanced information and technological equipment and scientific point of view in accordance with the developments in this field in the world. The main objective of this master program with the thesis Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property is to develop the knowledge and skill levels of professional staff in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural properties. The aim of this course is to educate the professional staff who are specialized in their field, reflecting the understanding of interdisciplinary cooperation in their studies by increasing their knowledge and skills. The secondary aim is the field of social sciences such as archeology and art history; students who have received bachelor's degree in engineering, interior architecture, construction and material engineering and science, chemistry, biology and geology with the basic knowledge of conservation and restoration of cultural properties, and their professional knowledge and skills in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural properties. To ensure that they contribute to the development of interdisciplinary study in the field of conservation-restoration science with the fields in question so that they can use them. For this purpose, a scientific preparation program is applied to the undergraduate degree students from these fields who are enrolled in the program. The program consists of compulsory and elective courses.
Goals
The aim of the master program in the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Properties is to develop the knowledge and skills of professional staff of graduates of cultural properties in the frame of ethical rules, to perform in accordance with scientific and technological developments, to determine methods, to evaluate the results of the application, to conduct scientific research and research as well as specialize in a certain group of materials. In addition, candidates who have received bachelor's degree in social sciences, engineering and natural sciences can equip their cultural assets with knowledge and skills in the field of conservation and restoration, and ensure that they can use their professional knowledge and skills in their fields of conservation and restoration of cultural properties, to contribute to the development of interdisciplinary study in the field of conservation science
