Goals Course areas; to comprehend the origins of animal behaviors and behavior patterns of various types and to enable them to acquire the knowledge and skills to associate them with animal husbandry. Besides, the animals; to establish the awareness that all social, sensory, physiological, psychological needs must be kept in a suitable environment for their survival without being under stress and without suffering.
Course Content The importance of animal behavior in animal husbandry. Who should know and why animal behaviors? Origins of animal behavior. During the growth period; effects of environmental conditions and animal husbandry practices on behaviors. Nervous system and endocrine system-behavior relationships. Cattle, sheep, goat, buffalo and chicken behavior. Definition and history of animal welfare. Livestock welfare relations. Animal welfare in intensive and extensively livestock. The importance of animal behavior in animal husbandry. Who should know why animal behavior? Origins of animal behavior. Learning Outcomes 1) Learns the history, development, purpose and relations of behavioral science with animal husbandry
2) The basics of behavior are learned, they gain knowledge, skills and awareness that can be used in animal husbandry
3) Learns behavior-production relations in cattle, sheep, goats and poultry, using this information to learn care and feeding practices. arranges.
