Goals Stored product diseases and their management before and after harvest. Biology and damages of pests in stored products. To give information about pest and control methods that must be applied according to the product type.
Course Content Definition, biology and damage of pests (insects, mites and rodents) and diseases (physiological, fungal and bacterial) in stored grain, legumes, dried fruit, fresh fruit and vegetables, tobacco, leather, aromatic and medicinal plants and wood. Cultural, physical-mechanical, biological, legal (Quarantine), chemical and integrated pest management against stored product pest.
Learning Outcomes 1) Identifies stored product disease species
2) Determines which control method or methods is used against different stored product disease and pest species
3) Identifies stored product pest species
