Goals The aim of the course is to scrutinize certain works of the Medieval English Literature.
Course Content The works written between the dates Anglo-Norman and Renaissance periods,and the development of Middle English and Middle English literature will be evaluated in light of historical and social background.
Learning Outcomes 1) It compares medieval language with Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, Norman French, and Latin and deals with their interactions.
2) Examines medieval literature; historical, legal, political, cultural, sociological, religious, philosophical and economic.
3) S/he discusses the history of medieval art in the context of iconography, ecphrastic literature, manuscript miniatures, tombstone sculptures, brass drawings and stained glass.
