Goals The course aims at acquainting the students with the techniques of realistic drama as well as giving them an insight into the position of English drama in the 20th century.
Course Content This course is to study the plays of playwrights who wrote in the earlier years of the twentieth century
Learning Outcomes 1) Students can explain the basic concepts related to drama.
2) Students summarize the historical development of drama as a literary genre.
3) Students gain the skills to read and analyse the plays.
4) Students analyse the development, changes and features of Contemporary English Theatre.
5) Students analyse the stages and distinctive ltierary and structural features of contemporary English drama.
6) Students analyse the historical, political, cultural, sociological and economic events in relation to the plays analysed.
7) Students learn the certain literary theories on drama.
8) Students contribute to their written and oral skills related to drama.
