Goals The aim of the course is to improve the skills to translate literary texts from different genres.
Course Content Explains the points that require special attention when doing literary translations, evaluates the differences of language and style, and provides practice of translating various literary texts from different genres.
Learning Outcomes 1) Through the detailed analysis of various uses of language and style in different works of different literary genres, the skills to grasp and handle these various uses are improved.
2) After the theoretical input, every week texts are translated in class and as homework so that the students' English-Turkish translation skills are enhanced.
3) Students learn by experience the fact that literary translation skills continue to improve as long as they keep practicing, that it is a never-ending process of development.
