Goals Objectives of lower extremity amputee rehabilitation, planning and implementation of rehabilitation approaches for preoperative, postoperative, preprosthetic, prosthetic and postprosthetic periods, prosthetic training.
Course Content Causes of lower extremity amputation, the relationship between cause and level, factors affecting rehabilitation, the aims of preoperative, postoperative, preprosthetic, prosthetic and post prosthetic periods in terms of lower extremity amputee rehabilitation, postoperative complications, wound healing in the stump, approaches to edema control, special methods used to prepare the patient for prosthesis, special approaches related to deciding on the appropriate prosthesis for the patient, prosthesis education, home program and recommendations.
Learning Outcomes 1) Knows the aims of lower extremity amputee rehabilitation.
2) Knows the rehabilitation approaches of preoperative, postoperative, preprosthetic, prosthetic and postprosthetic periods, and provides guidance within a multidisciplinary team when necessary.
3) Knows the approaches used to prepare the patient for prosthesis.
4) Knows prosthetic designs.
5) Knows the selection of prosthetic fittings.
6) Gains knowledge and skills about prosthesis education, prosthetic home follow-up and recommendations.
