Goals Citizenship Knowledge course aims to teach the basic concepts of citizenship by examining the concepts of State, Constitution and human rights to social studies teacher candidates.
Course Content The content of this course is basic knowledge of law, the basic concepts of human rights and citizenship, recent developments in Europe and in Turkey in the field of human rights, Constitution of Turkey and human rights in international law. In this way, it is aimed to provide pre-service teachers to understand the concepts of State and human rights and to respect the human rights and to train teachers who know their rights and duties towards the state.
Learning Outcomes 1) S/he find outs the basic concepts of society and law order.
2) S/he learns basic concepts of human rights and citizenship.
3) S/he learns historical development of human rights in Europe and in Turkey.
4) S/he learns features of Turkish Constitution
