Goals Environmental stress (physical and biological); forms of resistance (escape, avoidance, completely resistance, tolerance); relationships among stress, resistance and adaptation; analysis of adaptation and stability; resistance to drought, coldness, salinity and disease; types of resistance (monogenic-polygenic, horizontal-vertical, seedling-mature plant, active-passive); mechanism of resistance; inheritance of resistance; determination of resistance gene number and structure; relationships between genotype-environment and host-pathogen in breeding for resistance; methods of testing for resistance; assessment of resistance; principles of breeding for resistance; sources of resistance; methods of breeding for resistance; preservation of resistance.
