About Program
Guidance and Counseling master program is a program carried out by the Department of Psychological Serivces in Education. It is one of the oldest programs of the field of counseling, and has contributed to the emergence of many experts in the field. Each year, approximately 10 candidates are admitted to the program.
Goals
The aim of this program is to train counselors who have grasped the new paradigms of the counseling profession in the 21st century Information Age; have adopted the humanist and existential philosophy of life; have conducted original research studies for the development of the counseling field by using scientific research skills; and also have provide preventive and protective mental health services at primary and secondary level in institutions such as education, health, industry, and justice.
Summary of Program Outcomes
The program aims to gain a variety of knowledge, skills, and competencies in those areas: Analyze and apply the theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Counseling and Guidance and in its specialist fields; adopt counseling theories, principles and techniques, and the codes of professional ethics, do counseling practices according to these; have advanced knowledge of scientific research methods and statistics; use computer at advanced level and know foreign language; have positive understanding related to democracy, human rights, and ethical values, etc.
